It’s Barcelona!
As y’all know, I have been looking for a long time for tickets to Europe this summer, with no luck. The prices were just ridiculous. Well, today my luck changed, somewhat. I found a R/T ticket to Barcelona for $630! One little caveat, it is ex DC. But, it is still $200 cheaper than flying out of Pittsburgh (and I can get to and fro for less than $200).
Thus, my plans have changed dramatically, and here’s a tentative itinerary. Flying into Barcelona on May 6 for about 5/6
days. Then flying to Paris for $49 for another 5/6 days. From Paris, take the train to Strasbourg ($62) … a city I am really looking forward to revisit. I loved it the first time. From Strasbourg onto Munich ($119 by train, not very happy with this price and will look into finding a cheaper way to get to Munich) where I will be staying at the Wombats Hostel (have done that before and it is really great). From Munich I will take the train to Oberammergau ($32) for the Passion Play and that will conclude the first half of my visit. So different from what I have planned before, maybe y’all can see now what I mean when I say: DO NOT HAVE A RIGID ITINERARY.
I am excited, as I have never been to Spain before. I have been to Paris before, and I hated it, so I have to go back and kiss and make up. I definitely will go to the Louvre this time and see Mona and Venus. While in Paris I will also look up Rodin’s pal. But, what I am most excited about is going to Versailles. I may even schedule two days for this visit.

The revisit to Strasbourg is something I am REALLY looking forward to. The first one was too short and I REALLY liked this town. Munich … it’s OK … holds the key to what I perceive to be the high light of my trip. The Passion Play.
I am getting excited now. Exactly two months before my departure, I have a ticket. This is the longest I have ever waited, but it paid off. Now the fun part starts. Getting to “know” Barcelona before I go … what do I have to see, where do I have to go … TG for the Internet. I’ll keep you posted
